First Voiceover job hired through Linkedin
Like many people out there I have a LinkedIn page which gives highlights of my career and what I’ve done things like that. Honestly I haven’t really utilized it much since I kind of see it as a grown up version of Facebook and I honestly don’t really get it but something happened the other day that changed how I need to look at it.
Out of the blue I had a new client email me to ask me to do a job for them. Four lines, super simple and really good money – the perfect combination. When I asked how they found me, because I like to know what part of my marketing is working, she told me it was via LinkedIn. She said their production company prefers to use that versus one of the pay-to-play sites out there.
I don’t mind telling you I was super surprised. Like I said I have a profile, it’s got my information but I’ve really never given much thought to it. I think I need to start investigating it more and finding out some of the networking power that may be hidden under the hood.
